Camden Cycle Club – Points Race Rules
The following rules will govern the Points Race:

Objective: Riders accumulate points during the race through intermediate sprints and by lapping the field. The rider with the most points at the end of the race wins.

A whistle will sound for the intermediate sprints and a bell for the final lap.

Race Times:
A Grade 50 minutes, Warm up 10 minutes (Approx six sprints)
B Grade 40 minutes, Warm up 10 minutes (Approx four sprints)
C Grade 30 minutes, Warm up 5 minutes (Approx four sprints)
D Grade 25 minutes, Warm up 5 minutes (Approx three sprints)
E Grade 15 minutes, Warm up 5 minutes (Approx two sprints)

Intermediate Sprints:
Sprints will be held every 3rd lap.

Points are awarded to the top four finishers in each sprint as follows:
1st Place: 5 points
2nd Place: 3 points
3rd Place: 2 points
4th Place: 1 point

Lapping the Field: Any rider who gains a lap on the main field will be awarded 20 points.

Final Sprint: The points awarded in the final sprint will be doubled:
1st Place: 10 points
2nd Place: 6 points
3rd Place: 4 points
4th Place: 2 points

Tie-Breaker: In the event of a tie on points at the end of the race, the finishing order in the final sprint will determine the final standings. The rider with the highest placing in the final sprint will be awarded the higher race position.

Race Conduct: All riders must adhere to safe cycling practices and follow the instructions of race officials. Any rider who has ridden dangerously or unfairly may be penalised or disqualified.
